Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, will be under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.Nathan was born Dec. 19, 1997, in Ada, the son of Barry Hurst and Misty Cox Hurst. He passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017, near Marietta.A 2016 graduate of Turner High School, Nathan attended college and was an employee in Facility Services at WinStar at the time of his death. While a student at Turner, he played basketball and baseball, was a member of the 4-H Club, was also active in FCA and Beta Club, and served as chaplain of the FFA Chapter. Nathan, a very happy individual who was always smiling, loved the Lord and was anxious to witness that love with others. He also enjoyed visiting with family and friends and spending time with his fiancee’. Nathan was also proud of his Native American heritage, being 1/8 Mississippi Choctaw. His hobbies included fishing and camping.Preceding him in death were his maternal grandmother, Linda Newton; maternal great-grandparents, Mary and Gene Hammons and Faye Cox; and paternal great-grandparents, Buddy and Velda Hurst.Survivors include his mother, Misty Hurst of Marietta; father and stepmother, Barry and Amber Hurst, also of Marietta; fiancee’, Aspen George of Dickson; brother, Ryan Hurst of Marietta; sister, Laura Beth Hurst of Marietta; two stepsisters, Tamra Simpson of Marietta and Alex Brightman of The Colony, Texas; paternal grandparents, Don and Corenia Hurst of Marietta; maternal grandparents, Stan and LaDanna Cox of Marietta; uncles and aunts, Brandon Cox of Shawnee, Donnie and Rena Hurst of Marietta, and...
Body found near Greenwood Cemetery, Lakeview church - NOLA.com

The man's body was found near an entrance drive to Greenwood Cemetery and First Baptist Church New Orleans (map). NOPD spokesman Juan Barnes said the man had been shot, but said the death was unclassified. He declined to say if foul play was suspected.Officers as of 8:30 a.m. were blocking the entrance drive and people dropping children off at the church for daycare were being diverted. Traffic on Canal Boulevard was not affected by investigation, as of 8:30 a.m.A Greenwood Cemetery employee discovered the man's body about 7 a.m. while making her routine morning rounds of the grounds, said Pat McMahon, 63, an ambassador for Greenwood Funeral Home.McMahon said the employee saw the man's body and honked her horn, thinking he was sleeping. When she realized he wasn't moving, she called authorities. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.Pugh was born March 12, 1951, in Austin, Texas, the son of Arvel A. Pugh and Vivian M. Parker Pugh. He passed away Thursday, February 9, in Marietta at the age of 65.A resident of Love County for the past 22 years, Pugh was a self-employed contractor. He and Jean Francis Stoehr were married in Winchester, Va., on May 23, 1975, and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2016. Glenn served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing craft work. Glenn also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Arvel A. Pugh, Jr; and grandson, Tyson Newman.Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Anita Newman of Lampasas, Texas, and Gregg and Patty Newman of Marietta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Bob Gerardi of Etna, Pa. and Laura and Charles Scott of Whitesboro, Texas; brother, Emmett Pugh of Denton, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Casket bearers will be Leighton Manuel, Keeton Manuel, Emmett Pugh, Charles Scott, Jr., Evan Barnett, and Gregory Newman.
